چکیده
Abstract In this research, an attempt has been made to evaluate the structural response of multi‐storey composite modular buildings when subjected lateral wind loads. Finite element (FE) models were developed in Abaqus for a general 10 storey building, with and without consideration load resisting mechanisms shear walls. Concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) columns walls proposed place conventional elements improve resistance, modularity, construction timeframe. It was observed that under effect loads, forces between modules are transferred primarily by horizontal axial forces. When sudden module removal is considered along wind, vertical inter‐module connection increase becomes critical shear. Even though probability occurrence loads loss rare, it concluded do not influence overall stability structure event progressive collapse if effective mechanism designed.

Analysis of Tall Buildings with Bundled Tube System Subjected to Wind and Earthquake loads
At present, the tubular structural systems are mainly used in tall buildings to withstand earthquake loads. Although it is possible to analyse the structure by finite element methods using standard three dimensional programs, the system is generally time-consuming and expensive in the primary design work. In this paper, for the analysis of Framed-Tube systems, a simple method was studied and de...

متن کاملFailure mechanisms in composite panels subjected to underwater impulsive loads
This work examines the performance of composite panels when subjected to underwater impulsive loads. The scaled fluid–structure experimental methodology developed by Espinosa and co-workers was employed. Failure modes, damage mechanisms and their distributions were identified and quantified for composite monolithic and sandwich panels subjected to typical blast loadings. The temporal evolutions...

This paper presents results of a recent study addressing issues concerning the dynamic response of high-rise buildings. Utilizing a high-frequency base-balance, the alon~w;:~d, acrosswind and torsional components of aerodynamic loads and their statistical corm!ations for a wide range of generic building shapes of different aspect ratios in two approach flow conditions are quantified. A random-v...
